Okay painting peeps, here’s your list!
Now, keep in mind that it may seem expensive at first, but this stuff will last you through several paint parties. So really, two paint parties and you’re supplies would be more than paid for!!! And since we don’t know how long this Social Distancing will last, we might as well be prepared!
Paints
We did some searching, so far the BEST prices are at Dickblick.com! You can get the Blick Studio Acrylics at a decent price, plus they’re all right there in one place.
Keep in mind, these paints are soft body, not student acrylic, so they are thicker. You will need to use a little water as you go to thin it out.
Pro TIP: Get all the paints in one place, at one time, then you’ll get FREE shipping. Here’s the link for Blick Paints , and here’s the list of paints:
- Mars Black – 250 Ml
- Titanium white – 250 Ml
- Cadmium Red Medium – 4oz
- Cadmium Yellow Medium – 4oz
- Pthalo Blue – 4oz
- Pthalo Green – 4oz
- Quinacridone Magenta -4 oz
- Burnt Sienna – 4oz
- Light Green Permanent – 4oz
- Cobalt Blue – 4oz
As far as size goes, we suggest getting the bigger 250 Ml tubes for the Black and White, and the smaller 4 oz tubes for the other colors. HOWEVER, if you plan on getting seriously busy painting, you may want to consider getting the larger tubes for the other colors as well. There is also a 400 Ml option for some of the colors as well.
Paint Brushes
We will be selling our used paint brushes at discounted prices, so you are welcome to get some from us, but if you’d rather buy brand new or you’re not local, you can get paint brushes at Dickblick as well, or even Amazon has some good deals on value set packs.
The Amazon Value set is currently $13.99. It’s a great buy, you get a little bit of everything.
At Dickblick, the Royal Langnickel Soft Grip Golden Taklon Brush Set is probably one of my favorites. They are for sure a little bit higher in quality.
his is the beginner set. It includes one short handle brush in each of Bright sizes 1, 6, 8, Filbert 8, and Round 2.That’s seriously all you really need. You get all the Flats/Brights that we use, plus a Filbert! It’s currently on sale at Dickblick for $11.57.
Here’s the list of sizes if you choose to buy elsewhere.
- 3/4 inch Flat or 1 inch Flat
- 1/2 inch Flat
- 1/4 inch Flat
- Detail Brush
You can get them at Michael’s as well if you’d rather.
Canvases
Like I said before, we literally just stalked up on canvases, 12 x 16, so we will sell them to you. However, you can also buy them Dickblick!
You can get (6) 12 x 16 stretched canvases for $11.75. That’s about $1.95 per canvas. That’s cheaper than what we could sell them for!
Additional Supplies
Chalk – Both white and colored
You can easily use chalk to make your own Saral Paper, that’s the white transfer paper we use to transfer templates. If a painting needs a template, we’ll offer the download to print, then you’d basically have to chalk the back of the template, set it on top of the canvas, and draw it on. Honestly, colored sidewalk chalk works the best for this. You can get a 12 pack at Dickblick for only $2.96.
But it’s also important to have other chalk that you can sketch with. You can get a 12 pack of Drawing Chalk for $3.10 at Dickblick.
If you’d rather just buy Saral paper, Dickblick has that too!
Okay, that’s the basic list. If you guys have any questions, don’t hesitate to send us a message on Facebook. And, if you want to get some brushes or canvases from us, let us know and we’ll meet up!!!
Thank you guys! Can’t wait!!!!
